Refreshments will be provided Talbot Davis was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. As a teenager, he was the two-time Texas state champion in tennis for boys’ 18-and-under. After graduating from high school in 1980, he attended Princeton University in Princeton, NJ, where he played varsity tennis for four years, served as team captain, and graduated with honors in English in 1984.
Talbot is a 1990 graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. In 36 years of full-time ministry, he has served two churches: Mt. Carmel (Monroe) (1990-1999) and Good Shepherd, Charlotte (1999-present). Talbot helped lead Good Shepherd through disaffiliation in 2023 and it now stands as an independent congregation. He has published multiple volumes, first with Abingdon Press and the current Come Alive series of books and workbooks with Invite Press. In 2020, Abingdon published his book on preaching, Simplify The Message; Multiply The Impact. Talbot currently serves as a Teaching Assistant in the Preaching Department at Wesley Biblical Seminary.
ENGAGE : Acts 1:8 Missions Training for the Global Methodist Church
ENGAGE is a two-day intensive training designed to equip annual conference and local church leaders with practical tools and biblical foundations for effective Acts 1:8 missions. Led by the Global Methodist Church Kingdom Advancement Commission, this interactive training will help your conference and congregation strengthen their mission strategy as we make disciples of Jesus Christ and spread Scriptural holiness throughout the world.
