The Bishop’s Cup Golf Classic - September 15, 2025

Through our Mission Collectives, we desire to share the whole counsel of God with all peoples and to advance the presence and fulfillment of the Kingdom of God in every part of South Carolina and at all levels of societies and cultures. The Global Methodist Church of South Carolina is committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures, and the work of the Holy Spirit in conveying God’s truth and grace to all people.

We are a global church that recognizes and deploys the gifts and contributions of each part of the church, working as partners in the gospel with equal voice and leadership. Our witness to the world is marked by mutual love, concern, sharing, and a focus on those who are most vulnerable. We watch over one another in love and bear witness to the transforming power of the Good News as we humbly, but boldly, strive to serve others as ambassadors of Christ!

Missions Collective Regional Gatherings

When it comes to the Kingdom work of ministry in Missions, we are truly better together! We invite you to gather with others in your area of South Carolina at a Missions Collective Regional Gathering near you. These events are for pastors, lay leaders, missions committee members, or anyone interested in learning more about how to lead and serve missionally in your local church. We will connect, collaborate, pray for, and build up one another as we embark on a new journey together as Global Methodists in our great state. The Missions Collective leadership will provide you with tools that you can take back to your congregation to help you begin or continue to expand your outreach both locally and globally.

Explore ALPHA

We are offering opportunities for pastors and laity interested in running Alpha Courses to explore Alpha with Margaret Cotton, the Executive Director of Alpha South Carolina.

Margaret has been the Executive Director for South Carolina since

2009. Prior to her work with Alpha, she had 30 years’ experience in the training and media fields. She had a training and consulting business for 7 years and then became involved in media, first as a sales person and then as a sales manager for various radio stations, newspapers and magazines.

Margaret’s primary role is to introduce, train and coach churches, prisons, campuses and organizations who want to run the Alpha Course, a non- denominational global ministry which encourages guests to explore the questions of life such as “ Does God heal today?”… “Why does God allow pain and suffering?”… and “Why and how should I share my faith?”

Across the United States, cities in every state are becoming more post-Christian –some at a faster rate than others. Young people are leaving the church in great numbers. There is a growing need for a tool like Alpha. According to the Barna Research Institute, about 50% of Alpha participants make a first time commitment or recommitment to Christ. “Alpha has impacted our church culture by bring evangelism back to the forefront of what we do.” (Jon Tyson, Trinity Grace Church)

Margaret works as a missionary and raises 100% of her funding from individuals, foundations and churches in order to do the work in South Carolina. This allows her to train and coach with no cost to the organizations.

Rooted 2025

The GMC of South Carolina’s Youth Collective, will hold its student ministry conference, Rooted, October 17 - 18, 2025.  This year Rooted Student Conference will be held at Covenant Church in Greer, SC. This conference will include a main speaker, breakout sessions, worship, resources, and much more for both students and youth pastors/directors/volunteers.

South Carolina Global Methodist Confirmation Retreat
March 6 - 8, 2026 | Gravatt Camp and Conference Center Cost $180

We’re thrilled to invite confirmands and their leaders from across the Global Methodist Church of South Carolina to our first-ever state-wide Confirmation Retreat! Held at the beautiful Gravatt Camp and Conference Center!

Designed for students of all ages and at any stage of their church’s confirmation journey - whether you’re just getting started in March or nearing the finish line - this retreat will provide a shared experience that deepens understanding, builds connection, and strengthens commitment. Together, we’ll explore what it means to say "yes" to Jesus Christ, to the Church, and to a lifetime of discipleship in the Global Methodist tradition.

Throughout the weekend, confirmands will:

  • Discover the deeper meaning behind our membership vows.

  • Reflect on faith as a journey, not a destination.

  • Learn how confirmation is not the end, but the beginning of a vibrant, Spirit-empowered life in Christ.

  • Engage in dynamic worship, large group teaching, small group discussions, games, small groups, FUN, and meaningful moments of community with other students from around the state.

This retreat is designed to complement your local confirmation process - not replace it. Whether your students are taking their first steps or preparing for Confirmation Sunday, this retreat will unify, inspire, and equip them to live boldly for Christ.

Details regarding pricing, speakers, and others will be released closer to the opening of registration in August.
